Want to quit that bad habit?

cigarette-1642232_1280You know smoking isn't good for you, yet you do it anyway. Maybe you've tried to quit with every technique under the sun or think it's just impossible at this point.

Smoking is one of the most difficult habits to break. Besides the physical aspect to quitting, there is often an emotional and psychological component. Hypnosis is shown to be more effective than nicotine replacement therapy according to several studies.

In the study, Guided Health Imagery for Smoking Cessation and Long-Term Abstinence, hypnosis was found to more than double your chances of staying smoke-free after 24 months. Read more here.

In the study, A meta-analytic comparison of the effectiveness of smoking cessation methods, smokers were twice as effective at quitting with hypnosis over self-care treatments (self-help books, etc.) and nicotine replacement gum.

How hypnosis for smoking cessation works:

I use a series of effective techniques to help folks who are ready to quit for good.

This work involves two sessions. In the first session, I gather information about the person I am working with, why they want to quit, and details about their particular tobacco habit. At the end of the first session, I give a homework assignment to be completed before the second session.

The second session is scheduled three weeks later. This session uses several procedures to address the different aspects of smoking. One of these procedures addresses the urge to smoke, another procedure tackles triggers, and a third procedure allows you to envision being a non-smoker. There may be additional procedures based on your history and habit.

I ask all of my clients to check in with me by phone two weeks later to see how their change is coming along.
